How I became "Queen of Nostalgia"
I'm a first generation, barely bilingual sometimes trilingual brazilian mexican girly who loves to call myself a brexican. Although I was raised by a single mother, I love my dad for his influence on me and think I'm the perfect combination of both of my parents. I'm the youngest of 3, and no that doesn't make me spoiled, it actually made me ambitious and very care free.
Just like my parents and both set of grandparents, I graduated the University of Texas at Arlington with a film degree and decided to work for myself.
8 years later and I'm still going strong. In the time between getting a film degree and developing my own business, I said yes to so many opportunities. I worked for big productions like Poo Pourri, The Dallas Mavericks, Visit Dallas and also traveled the United States for a company called EWomen Network, whose mission statement very much aligned with where I wanted to go.
I think we're all a by product of the sum of what we've been through and if I were to name the singular event in my life that changed me forever, it would have to be losing my best friend at twenty one years old.
I learned at a young age that life is not guaranteed and the moments we take for granted end up being the ones you wish you could hold on to longer. Thus formed becoming the queen of nostalgia that most people know me for.
I'm aware that not all moments can be positive, but what I know to be true is that good and bad things happen to everyone, rich or poor, and the only way to overcome is how you choose to look at it. Which is why my instagram handle is possible pri.
I believe that all things are possible, if you want it bad enough, and that life at some point, becomes a choice.
because of this logic , I romanticize my life and the ones around me. I'm deeply emotional and crave to capture what your family looks like when i'm not there. I want the in between moments, the ones that you look at and think, yeah that was that era. Because I know the feeling all too well, of wishing you had documented more.
If any of this resonates with you, I'm your girl. Let's tell your story.
